
The Sport for Life Summit is a national gathering focused on advancing quality sport, physical literacy, and long-term athlete development across Canada. The Summit brings together leaders from sport organizations, community groups, education, and government to align on how sport is delivered, experienced, and sustained at every level.
The 2026 edition of the Summit was hosted in Calgary and delivered in partnership with Sport Calgary, reinforcing the city’s role as a hub for collaboration, innovation, and leadership within Canada’s sport system.
The Summit welcomed 270 attendees, representing 153 organizations from 72 cities and regions across the country - reflecting both its national reach and its importance as a forum for shared learning, dialogue, and connection.
Media&Motion was engaged to capture the Summit with intention and clarity, documenting the event alongside the conversations, relationships, and collective purpose shaping the future of sport in Canada.

Sport for Life is a national organization dedicated to improving the quality of sport, physical activity, and recreation across Canada. Through evidence-based frameworks such as physical literacy and long-term development, Sport for Life supports governments, sport organizations, educators, and communities in creating positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate sport experiences for people of all ages.
Sport Calgary plays a critical role at the local level, supporting and advocating for community sport organizations across the city. Through education, collaboration, and capacity-building initiatives, Sport Calgary works to ensure sport in Calgary remains accessible, safe, and impactful - strengthening programs that serve thousands of participants each year.

Our coverage approach centered on intentional storytelling through interviews and conversation, alongside comprehensive event documentation.
Throughout the Summit, we recorded interviews with key voices shaping sport in Canada - including leadership from Sport for Life and Sport Calgary, as well as representatives from sport organizations, municipal partners, and contributors working across legal, policy, and programming environments.
These interviews were captured with multiple outputs in mind, supporting:
